“Even if you fall on your face, you’re still moving forward” ~ Victor Kiam
I’ve moved. A lot. I grew up in a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, met a boy in the Coast Guard, and for the past 19 years, my life has been in constant motion. I’m the most anal person I know who’s relished in living a consistently inconsistent life. Living a transient life has opened my eyes to the value of not only my own family and culture, but of other’s as well.
I was raised on an organic farm, then married a Southern Texan – needless to say, election years are interesting in our home. I thrive on dichotomy and love; understanding the opposing side yet never wavering when it comes to my own views.
I love science, and gardening, healthy eating, DIY projects, supporting small businesses, saving money then spending it on quality things. I appreciate the quietness and beauty of nature yet drawn to the bustling excitement and chaos of a big city. I’m passionate about the environment and recycling and just trying not to live like a jerk. I love to cook, and eat out, and a good cocktail.
I’m a stay at home mom who loves it half the time then struggles with it the other half. “I’ve never felt more fulfilled in my life” vs. “Whyyyyyyyy am I not enough” runs through my head each day. I want to raise our daughter with the appreciation and respect for ALL humans, regardless of sex or ethnicity. I want her to always see the good in everything first.
I created this page to celebrate the good; promote love, and kindness, and tolerance. But most of all I want to learn how to empower myself, and our daughter, and your sons and daughters, to do the same.
So here it is.
